Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, National Theater and Concert Hall
The Hall towers over landscaped gardens, ponds and pavilions. A statue of the late President looks out over the city. An elegant Ming-style arch at the main entrance is flanked by two classical-style buildings, The National Theater and National Concert Hall.
The Martyr’s Shrine
This impressive shrine was built in 1969, and is modeled after the Hall of Supreme Harmony of the Forbidden City of Beijing. The shrine rises from a park-like setting within a ring of mountains. Don’t miss the honor guard performed hourly in front of the main gates.
The National Palace Museum
The National Palace Museum, houses the world’s largest collection of Chinese art and artifacts dating back more than 7,000 years. The collection includes over 650,000 items, including paintings, calligraphy, bronze, jade, silk and more.
The Taiwan Handicraft Promotion Center
The Taiwan Handicraft Promotion Center is a non-profit center which houses Taiwan’s largest selection of traditional local handicrafts, from carvings and paintings to glasswork, and aboriginal ornaments. The center will ship your purchases back to the US.
